Linda Gordon has recently moved to Devon, in the southwest of England, after a year-long artist's residency in rural Northumberland. Whether working indoors or out, her focus has always been upon the earth and our relationship with the natural environment. Her practice explores notions of 'place' and our identity as an integral part of nature.
It is based mainly, though not exclusively, on site-specific installations, both in and out of doors.
She enjoys running low-key events related to 'place', taking an increasingly wide-ranging approach to work, whilst remaining focused on the interaction between arts, community and environment. photo© T.Kurara
She has carried out installations, exhibitions and environmental works in this country and overseas, and is experienced in self-initiated projects and collaborations. Internet activities and new forms of social interaction and information-sharing are playing an increasingly important role in her professional practice. She also writes and gives talks and presentations on her own work and environmental arts in general.
