Linda Gordon has carried out many installations, exhibitions and environmental projects in this country and overseas. She has recently moved to Devon, in the southwest of England, after a year-long artist's residency in rural Northumberland. Whether working indoors or out, her focus has always been upon the earth and our relationship with the natural environment.

Linda's practice explores notions of 'place' and our identity as an integral part of nature. It is based mainly on site-specific installations - sometimes on a large-scale, sometimes as small short-lived works or performances. She works with local 'earth' materials together with other media, particularly photography and written text.

Linda is keenly aware of the physical and mental benefits to be gained from creative activity inspired by the natural world. She enjoys running low-key public events related to 'place', taking an   increasingly wide-ranging approach to work, whilst remaining focused on the interaction between arts, environment and community.     photo© T.Kurara
