Welcome to my website! I hope you enjoy watching it grow and change, as I add new images and information about my art work.
The work is about movement, change and transformation. It is about becoming a part of this movement, and evolves out of my total engagement with a place, its people, and its underlying energy.
Sometimes it is a spontaneous, quickly- made piece. (Though not always as spontaneous as it looks: in the example above, Beach Bags, I actually spent many weeks collecting a colourful range of plastic bags, and waiting for weather and tide to be exactly right).
Other times it can be a long, laborious process, struggling for a simplicity that allows people freedom of interpretation. I can sometimes be spotted crawling around muddy fields, day after day, muttering about 'poetics' and 'geometry', but so far, thankfully, this has not caused too many raised eyebrows. The spiral piece below (dia. aprox 4.5 metres), took several months of experiment with shape and materials. More details of this are on my 'RURAL RESIDENCY' pages.

Indoor installations? These can take months of preparation too. They tend to be rather large, in my endeavours to activate the space and say something meaningful. To find out just how epic a process this can be, check out the Devon Art Works page of my blog: OPENING SPACES.
I update this site regularly, and very much appreciate your comments!
